Aesthetics Q&A

What is aesthetics?

Aesthetics is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats cosmetic imperfections like wrinkles, fine lines, scars, and skin laxity. Thanks to technological advances, the majority of these treatments are minimally invasive. That allows for outpatient procedures, little downtime, and long-lasting outcomes.

Who can benefit from aesthetics?

Anyone who wants healthier, younger-looking skin can benefit from aesthetic treatments. That’s especially true if you’re starting to experience signs of the natural aging process, including:

  • Moles
  • Sunspots
  • Loose, sagging skin
  • Excess fat
  • Cellulite
  • Unwanted hair
  • Spider veins
  • Skin discoloration

You might also benefit from aesthetics if you have thin lips, fine lines, or wrinkles.

What are the types of aesthetics?

At Temecula Medical Group, the team offers a comprehensive suite of aesthetic treatments, including:

Cosmetic injectables

Cosmetic injectables minimize the appearance of wrinkles and crow’s feet, lost facial volume, or a double chin. The team at Temecula Medical Group boasts years of experience administering all types of cosmetic injectables, including Botox®, Juvéderm® (Voluma™, Volbell™,  and Volure™), Kybella®, and Restylane® (Galderma) Kysse.

PCA SKIN®

If you have dry, discolored skin or wrinkles and fine lines that fail to respond to cosmetic injectables, your provider might recommend a chemical peel.

At Temecula Medical Group, the team uses chemical peels from PCA SKIN. Depending on your needs, they might recommend the Sensi Peel, the PCA Peel, the MD Peel, the Ultra Peel, the Retinol Peel, or retinol brightening treatment.

Crown Laboratories Skin Science for Life

The team at Temecula Medical Group also offers treatments, including microneedling with the SkinPen® and ProGen™ platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy.

During a SkinPen procedure, your provider uses a handheld device to make small puncture wounds on the surface of your skin. These micro-wounds encourage the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that make your skin firmer and more supple.

During PRP treatment, your provider draws a sample of your blood and puts it in a machine called a centrifuge. The centrifuge separates the platelets from the rest of your blood, creating a highly concentrated solution of growth factors.

When your provider applies the PRP solution to your skin, it increases circulation to your face, eliminating imperfections while encouraging the production of new, healthy skin cells.

What type of aesthetics will benefit me?

To determine the type of aesthetic treatment that will most benefit you, your Temecula Medical Group provider conducts an exam and asks about your goals for treatment. After gathering the information, they design a treatment plan that aligns with your needs.
